Mahin a traditional Sofreh Aghed wedding

What a joy to meet Mahin. She and Tony were married February 14th at the Island Hotel in Newport Beach. Duke photography captured the day….check out his work….creative! Mahin and Tony chose to marry in a Iranian Traditional ceremony….Sofreh Aghed. Now from what I understand this Sofreh Aghed is part of everything…it is the traditions from the food to the decore. There are specialists who incorporate the old world traditions into each brides new world tastes. So interesting. This is the best part of living in the United States. Each of us being the same, although each bringing a different world of culture and traditions. LOVE IT.

Let’s enjoy some of Tony and Mahin’s day.

Lauren, Mahin’s Design Visage artist did a smoky eye…color all over the lid and a full eye liner. Mahin has big dark eyes, perfect for this make-up style. But as you will see, sill quite natural. They decided to do a half up hairstyle, with a sleek look. The finishing touch…a beautiful flower.

Lauren returned to Mahin for a second hairstyle. What a stunning couple!

Thanks Mahin for bringing Design Visage into your day……

How Cute

A few days ago we did a wonderful post on Naomi and Larry………. Their wedding was featured on the knot website and in the new Fall Knot Magazine. So Naomi saw our post and of course loved it……although today I received these photos. As per Naomi the wedding hairstyle and bridal make-up were so beautiful that the photos we featured did not do it justice……..WOW thanks Naomi we love to hear that you loved loved how beautiful you looked and felt. So let’s see a few more shots of Naomi.

Naomi I believe you were right……look at that fantastic hairstyle….brava Michelle (her DV artist).

Once again I want to thank Ryan Phillips Photography. We so loved being a part of Naomi’s wedding. The best part though, is that we get to see Naomi often as we beautify her brides. Thanks DNT Elite Events we love your brides.

If rain drops were kisses,I could send you showers. if hugs were seas i send you oceans. and if love was a person i send you me!!

Bride in the Knot Magazine

Naomi and Larry were married last year, but we have been waiting to see the article in The Knot magazineto do our blog story. It was a special honor to have been chosen by Naomi for the bridal beauty, because she is a wedding coordinator and has worked with many vendors. So we feel privileged to have been a part of this unique day. Naomi is the N in DNT Elite events, and she is used to planning for all the others. In fact when we would call to confirm details about her wedding, she always had several other brides details to go over with us at the same time. WOW had did you do it!  Ryan Phillips was the master photographer for the day. Lets see what they say in the magazine.

Naomi’s hair and make-up were very fun. She has great hair and Michelle ( her DV artist) did an intricate but loose updo. It was all out of her face, and a piece of artwork in the back. Naomi’s make-up was a natural look of neutrals, pinks and mauve’s. Just enough to bring out her features. WOW she looks fantastic.

Look how important a good bridesmaids is….. to touch up your lip gloss.

Naomi has great taste in shoes

Sister finds the groom on Match

Angela and Steve were married in March…..but how did they meet? Angela’s sister wanted her to put a profile on Match. Well Angela liked the thought of meeting great men, but she is a teacher and was concerned that one of her students would see her in some way…it would be embarrassing and not too professional. So without her knowledge, her sister put a profile up and started interviewing men…or rather weeding out the no’s. When she saw Steve she had a conversation over e-mail and set up a date for Angela. Her sister and bother-in-law called….this is the time and date….you are going out with Steve. Angela is a pleas-er and did not want to disappoint, so she went. Good thing, 9 months later they were engaged. I just saw the movie “The Yes Man” and although I did not care much for the film, possible the message is true. Just show up!

Angela and Lauren, her Design Visage artist went with natural bridal make-up. Angela’s hair was a half up style adorned with a beautiful soft leather flower that she purchased at the salon. This is a very popular flower, you can see it on Bridalmode.com along with many other choices. They added extensions to her hair and lashes, just to add a bit of glamour and femininity. Looks fantastic.

This is the fabulous hair jewel that Angela wore in her hair…..find on Bridalmode. We just saw Angela today for a hair trim……school is out and she and Steve are on their way to Paris for the belated honeymoon….Thanks to Andy Pak for the photography.

Bride breaks her leg

Yes the ultimate fear……Victoria, the bride, broke her leg 3 weeks prior to the wedding. And she is a doctor! She was working at a clinic..twisted her leg on a cobblestone street and ended up in a cast. Can you return one shoe?

Both the bride and her handsome groom, Cheng-han, are Internists. I think its wise for doctors to marry doctors….they can actually appreciate the schedule and responsibility of the career. Victoria’s dad is a OBGYN in the Newport Beach area so she comes from a family of medicine.

One of our favorite people coordinated the wedding Naomi Takahashi of D.N.T. Elite events along with her two partners Deanna and Tiffany. We actually had the pleasure of helping Naomi look beautiful for her wedding last year. Sae Lee was kind to send us the lovely photography. They were a sensational team of artists, along of course with Design Visage.

The wedding was held on May 16th at the Trump National Golf Club. Lets start with the engagement photos that were shot in San Diego by  Sae Lee Photography, and beauty by Design Visage….then on to the wedding.

Heather, Victora’s DV artist chose a very natural look for the engagement photos…especially since Victoria does not wear a lot of make-up on a daily basis. For the wedding Heather went more dramatic on the eyes with a plum/brown shadow and a soft rosy cheek and lip. Victoria’s hairstyle was a half up. Very clean from the front and the back has a surprise design, created with a loose curl and the rest of her hair down and curled.

Look at those lashes….only her make-up artist knows for sure. Naomi, the coordinator, said that Victoria and Cheng-han were one of the most genuine and considerate couples she has ever met. The wedding party organized a fun game at the reception called “Who Will”. It was a series of questions on who was going to do what in the marriage…ie who will do the laundry, take out the trash, wear the pants. Yea wedding party for the creative fun!

A least her doctor removed the cast, replacing it with a boot for the wedding…yea

For fun I think Sae Lee should have taken a shot of just one shoe…..a funny memory. Maybe for me. Although the improtant thing that I always say to our brides….the only truely important thing on the wedding day is that he and you show up and commit your lives together…the rest is just fluff.

Thank you Victoria…we loved adding you to our family of beautiful brides.
