Design Visage/ Joe Photo/ Ceremony Magazine

A few years ago Design Visage teamed up with the very talented Joe Photo for a unique photo shoot that was published in Ceremony MagazineAs you will see Joe put much effort in the lighting and feeling of these shots. It was a pleasure to work with him. You can find many of these photos in our publicity section. Although, I feel these photos are due another look…..with a better resolution…..enjoy

I hope you enjoyed the photos…we did

Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not.

Erica and a great team at the Balboa Bay Club

So excited to write about Erica…..What a great experience we had meeting Erica and her mom. The became a part of the Design Visage right away. And best of all Erica came in for 4 hair previews!!! And she loved them all. This is what happens when you look good in every hairstyle. Although Erica kept vacillating between up or down. Wait until you see the creative middle her artist Adrienne did….all up, but looks part down. Now Erica has fantastic hair but we added a bit more to give the fullness. Her final hair preview was 2 days prior to the wedding. She was in the salon for honeymoon waxing. it was so funny her mom suggested we bring 2 wigs so Erica could alternate hairstyles….so I could not wait to see the final choice. And I can depend on Bleu Cotton Photography to have the photos available less than 2 days after the event….you rock Blue. The photos are fantastic and this is just a teaser, when Blue Cotton Photography has the entire wedding available….we will post more…yea. My good friend Susan Mcdonald of SuMac Productions pulled the day together. And my other good friends Ashley Video Productions shot the film part of the day. O yes also Nisie from Enchanted Florest along with Design Visage at Balboa Bay Club. What a great team Erica…

Erica took advantage of Design Visage’s new ” rent a headpiece” program. She wore 2 stunning vintage hair combs from Paris by Debra Moorland. We will have to get clear shot in a future post. These pieces can also be purchased on Bridalmode,Design Visage’s premier wedding accessory site.

What a beautiful couple. Erica and Ronnie were childhood friends….guess it was meant to be!

Erica we Loved helping you look so outstanding. Thanks you for becoming a Design Visage beautiful bride.

Find a guy who calls you beautiful instead of hot, who calls you back when you hang up on him, who will lie under the stars and listen to your heartbeat, or will stay awake just to watch you sleep… wait for the boy who kisses your forehead, who wants to show you off to the world when you are in sweats, who holds your hand in front of his friends, who thinks you’ re just as pretty without makeup on. One who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares and how lucky he is to have YOU… The one who turns to his friends and says, thats her…

Cindy and Mark and a beautiful view..La Venta

Cindy and Mark were married at the beautiful La Venta Friday August 1st, 2008.  Another  beautiful Southern California day with a view of the horizon = perfect ambiance for an important day. Can she be any cuter?

You can see here why it is important to have a hairstyle you love and some hair jewels to adorn. The veil usually comes off right after the ceremony. So you actually get 2 looks.

Dana was Cindy’s artist and Scott Nelson photography captured all the beauty and moments. Hope you enjoyed Cindy as much as we did!

Sachi and Mike a La Venta Dream

Sachi and Mike were married October 13th, 2008 at the beautiful La Venta in Palos Verdes. It was a beautiful Monday. Many brides are choosing week days for the big day. This is one of my favorite locations in the south bay area. On a clear day you can see up and down the entire coast.

This dress is amazing……all the lace is so feminine and flowy, and just look at those shoes….to die for!

The Photographer Scott Nelson ( a good freind of Design Visage) has a terrific special effect, I am not even sure what to call it, although it sure is fun.

Dana was Sachi’s artist and said it was a pleasure helping her look fantastic…because it was so easy. Sachi has beautiful skin and nice hair….just a little Design Visage magic. Thank you Sachi for letting Design Visage be a special part of your day.

The Magnificent Vivi…an Indian Ceremony/St Regis

Last year we had the pleasure of meeting Vivi and Eric. I have been anxiously awaiting the photos so I could bring the whole story to you with words but mostly pictures. You know how a picture says a thousand words, it certainly applies here. Let me introduce you that have never experienced an Indian wedding to the color, ritual, and celebration. Eric and Vivi met in Times Square, New York, although the wedding was in California. One of the main reasons the wedding was in Orange County was that most of Vivi’s family is here, and this was to be the first wedding in Vivi’s family in the U.S…..and the first “love marriage”. You see in the Indian tradition, weddings were arranged and even today many still are. Vivi’s parents and grandparents both had arranged marriages. So this was quite something for the family. A marriage where the couple chose who they would marry.

Vivi and her sisters were covered in Henna. This is the design you see on her hands. It is a old wife’s tale that the women who it shows up the darkest will be the next to marry. Vivi’s henna artist also intricately inscribed Erik’s name into the design on her hands. In Indian traditional arranged marriages in the past, a bride may not be able to meet her husband until the wedding. This inscribing of the grooms name served as an ice -breaker when the couple first had a chance to meet and talk.

Erik and Vivi had a traditional Hindu wedding performed in Sanskrit. She was carried in on a dholi, a traditional Indian chariot, by her brother and male members of the family. The dholi was designed in India by a family and shipped to the U.S. and arrived just days prior to the wedding. It weighs 300 lbs! Many books show brides in India being carried from her village to the village of her new husband.

One part of the ceremony, the priest drops a ring into a decorated bowl of water and the bride and groom search for the ring at the same time by sticking their hand in the bucket. The person who finds the ring 2 out of 3 times in destined to be the more dominate in the marriage. Erik won!

Lauren doing her magic……

Our friend Lisa Simpson of Lisa Simpson Weddings organized the entire event….wow, and Dina Douglas/Andrena Photography is responsible for all the incredable photographs. The St Regis was the stunning location.

You must stay tuned…..tomorrow will be the second wedding……you do not want to miss it!
