Wedding Day Makeover/TLC/Design Visage

We received some photos of the production of our new reality show Wedding Day Makeover on TLC weekdays at 11:30 and 5:30.

It was fun to see how they film reality shows and to be a part of the action. TLC’s Wedding Day Makeover filmed 50 brides for 25 episodes. Design Visage is proud to have been chosen to beautify 21 of the brides. All the DV stylists worked hard to make this happen. I want to especially thank Missy Garland, Susie Holloway, Dana Thompson and Lauren Hendrix for the long hours.

You can see Missy working with TV bride Meg. Georgia and Becky are setting the bridemaids hair. You will remember Meg as the cute bride that hated her freckles. Missy’s magic made Meg smile.

This is Jetta one of my favorite episodes. Jetta is a Harley riding proclaimed tomboy. She was so uncomfortable wearing makeup and having her hair styled. You can see her face cringe on the show. BUT when she saw what Design Visage stylist Susie did, she cried. I mean she actually sobbed. It was touching and Jetta made all of us tear up, even the film crew. On the wedding day, Susie and Missy showed up in western attire. Susie said “I just could not show up to Jetta’s wedding looking like a hollywood makeup artist” Jetta was touched that the Design Visage girls thought of her comfort. It made for one fun wedding and a great Wedding Day Makeover show.

Design Visage artist Missy with TV bride Veronica. I just loved Veronica and her family. You will remember her sisters and Mom had some strong opinions about Veronica’s hair and make-up. The wedding Design Visage sent 5 stylists to beautify all the bridesmaids, moms and friends. This was a fun day.

Barnet Photography/Wedding Hair/The Island Hotel

Mariam was such a fun bride….you will see by her choice in colors and style. She has the entire package, style, beauty, and smarts.

She was having difficulty finding a bridal hairstylist that shared her vision for her bridal look….fortunately Barnet Photography gave her the Design Visage number and the rest is beauty history.

Yes Mariam is stunning….although Barnet Photography did a rockin job on the photography (they always do)………

Dana, Miriam’s Design Visage artist outdid herself on this look….don’t you agree?

The cute warm up suit Miriam purchased on Bridalmode...our accessory wedding site….go see all the fun….

Dress was absolutely fantastic….

You have to admire the detail in Mariam’s hair…just as fantastic as the dress.

Next post is the party….and did they ever have a party…..tune in to see the reception of a lifetime…you have to tune into the Iranian Ceremony.

Tattoo Encore

Encore of the fun photos of tatoo brides. Just look at the art on these girls. I found all these photos on offbeatbride.com . Design Visage did not do the hair and make-up for these brides…although I wish we did….

I really appriciate brides who think outside the box…maybe because I as well did not do the traditional. I met this “to die for” man in Italy when I was studying there many years ago. We had so much in common. Most importantly we both agreed on the importance of a commited relationship, although did not want to marry. Well as life has it, after he was here for 2 years…we could not longer dodge immigration. The attorney said marry by April 15th or he becomes an illegal~!!! wow so we did not even talk about it for a few months…well April came around and to spare all the details….we went to Las Vegas…I wore a black dress ( very stunning) and we did it all alone…we did not even tell our friends or family….he suggested the drive through Elvis ceremony, but I did draw the line there…..so here we are 12 years later…..happy, married…..without even 1 photo of the day. O yes we did confess to our families 5 years after the day!

What a pretty girl with such a natural bridal make-up choice.

Hair Illusion

We love hair extensions. They can make your hair fuller, longer, a different color, all in one hour. Didn’t you used to wonder how the stars could have short hair one day and the next long. Well welcome to the world of hair extensions. For weddings they serve many purposes. For instance Laura. Laura is an attorney and has a very cute short professional hair style….take a look:

For the wedding Laura wanted to do something different for her bridal hairstyle. So with a little bit of hair, a new Laura. Although not so different that everyone will notice:

So now let’s take a look at the wedding…..It was a beautiful day at the Ritz Carlton in Dana Point. A perfect day for a small, intimate gathering to celebrate a wonderful couple.

Wow did you see the back of that dress…..Laura have a beautiful back and she chose the right dress to show it off.

To top it off, Laura adorned the look with a stunning Lariat necklace.

Heather, Laura’s Design Visage artist helped her choose just the right hair jewels. A pearl and Swarovski crystal design by MMM that she purchased from our Bridalmode accessory selection.

A Wedding of 37 Miracles

Earlier this year when we called the fabulous Triple Cord Photography to get a few photos of Jessica and Jesse’s wedding, we were delighted to hear the wonderful stories that came together due to the union of this couple. Since Design Visage is the beauty part of the day, we come first and unfortunately do not often see the beautiful details that surround the entire day. And apparently this was not one to miss. Luckily we were informed by all our friends that helped make this a wedding to remember. The wedding was featured in the new 2009 Summer Inside Weddings Let’s take a look:

A special moment of prayer

Hannah was the Design Visage artist for Jessica. As you can see, Jessica has perfect skin, so a natural cheek and lip was in order, eyes were a bit more smoky….Jessica’s bridal hairstyle was very classic with a pearl and jeweled broach to top it off.

You attend a wedding to bless the newly married couple. This is what happened on this day, although the union of Jessica and Jesse also blessed the guests….with 37 miracles to date.
