Some of our DV Divas stopped by to share their favorite products with you!

Benefit Ooh La Lift

What it is:
A dream cream for the under-eye area.

What it does:
Benefit Ooh La Lift is a wonder eye cream that works like an instant eye lift. With light-reflecting pigments and raspberry extract, this magic pink balm gives eyes an instant brightening boost and caffeine to perk up the eye.

Why I love it:
“Use throughout the day as an eye freshener. Lightens, brightens and tightens the eye.” - DV Jen

$22 at Sephora

MAC Fluidline – Blacktrack
What it is:

MAC Fluidline Ultra-smooth, gel formula eyeliner in a rich array of colors and finishes.

What it does:

Provides the precision of a liquid liner with a silkier, softer finish. Goes on “foolproof” with a brush an easy dip-and-stroke action. Long-wearing. Smudge-proof.

Why I love it:

“It goes on smooth, doesn’t smudge and I can use it on everyone! Defines the eyes and can be used for a natural eye or even for a more dramatic effect.” – DV Georgia

$15.00 at  MAC

I have fine lines around my eyes and had to try Benefit Ooh La Lift “dream cream” for myself. It REALLY works!

The Fluidline by MAC I have been using for years. Liquid liner appears harsh to me and the shadow liners do not last all day. This product is easily applied with an angled brush and you have control of how much or little you like

Karen French Photography and Design Visage = Beautiful

We have had the pleasure of working with Karen French (of Karen French Photography) for many many years now. Her style of photography always makes the brides shine. Today will showcase a few of the brides we did together in 08.

This is Denise. She and Ricardo were married October 12, 08 in Torrance. Lauren was her artist, and they choose to do a very classic hairstyle. The front is clean and shows Denise’s pretty face. The eyes were a bit smoky with a lip tone lip color.

Here we have Kristen…..she and Andrew were married August 30th, 08 at the unique Rancho Las Lomas. It was all organized by our friend and coordinator Melody Walker

Sabrina was the artist for Kimberly and she chose to wear her hair all down. Which is very popular now, although I do caution you to work with a very experienced artist for this style. Seems easier…..but will it stay all day..etc.

Dana was the artist for Kimberly. She and Jason were married June 22, 08 in Marina Del Rey.

This is one of my favorite hair styles…half up half down. It gives the elegant look of a wedding and something for your veil and hair jewelry to be secure, yet it also gives the casual hair down feeling.

Finally we have Jen. She and Mike were married August 2, 08 in Laguna Beach. Susan Mcdonald was the wiz that coordinated the day.

I hope you enjoyed our collections of Karen French/Design Visage brides……see you tomorrow.

Wedding#2 Lifetime Channels “My Best Friends Wedding”

So now was the time for Terri to surprise Mireja. The weddings were just a few weeks apart. It was very fun and an honor to be a part of the chosen vendors from the Lifetime Channel. It was actually a lot more work that a regular wedding. As we were applying the make-up and styling the hair, we had to start and stop so the film crew could get all the shots needed. Wow it gives you much respect for the artists that work in film….all the hurry up and wait!

As I look at these photos I wonder about the quality. Although these are nice, technology has changed the art of photography so much in the last few years, it sure dates these!

Both weddings were lovely, although I do think Terri and a few extra special features for Mireja.

So I ask again, would you like a wedding with a full camera crew? I think if I did I would want to also have a private ceremony with just me and my man…but that is my personality. I will say there was much energy and excitement.

Terri and Mireja were chosen out of a large group of girls who applied for this show. They must have had something special to be selected. At the end of the day, both girls had wonderful and beautiful weddings, planned by their best friend, the weddings were on TV, and completely Paid by the TV company. You can’t beat that. Terri and Mireja, I hope Design Visage helped make it special.

Carlo and Anna

Interesting how I met Carlo. A few years ago I went to Kenny the Printer to have a project printed. They were so rude to me that I left immediately. I walked out the door and thought what now, I need this asap. I looked across the street and saw Avanti Printing. I walked in the door and there was Carlo. So sweet, professional, and accommodating. This started a nice business relationship. Last year when Carlo told me he was going to propose to Anna (had not met her yet) I was thrilled. And even more honored when he asked Design Visage to make his Anna look beautiful on their wedding day. So here is how the story went. Now remember this is according to Carlo, so Anna if you have another version, just make a comment to set the record straight.

Anna was a good friend of Carlo’s twin sisters.  They would always tell him to ask her out. Carlo felt a little funny since Anna was such a good friend of his sisters. Carlo’s whole family knew Anna and suggested he pursue her. A couple years ago Anna came to Carlo’s birthday party. Carlo’s step-mom told him that Anna was following him around the room with her eyes. So he tested it…and it was true!

After some time passed, he saw her with his sisters, Carlo realized that Anna was an amazing girl and possessed all the qualities that he was looking for in a life partner and wife. They could not resist their destiny, started dating, and were married 1 year later.

Have you ever met a couple that you just knew would be together forever. That is how I feel about Carlo and Anna. When Anna came to Design Visage for her hair and make-up preview, it was apparent what Carlo saw in her. Anna is one of the most beautiful girls you will ever meet. Although I am not just talking about the physical appearance. Anna has a beautiful soul that she carries on the outside. Carlo and Anna have a true faith that will be a strong part of their life together.

Anna’s make-up was very light, natural browns and soft cheeks and lips. Her hair was a loose low style updo, very feminine.

I would like to thank their photographer Jacob Bongiovanni for all photos.
