Team Building – The Design Visage Way

Team building is important for any company, it builds motivation, trust and rapport. Most large corporations have team building activities that involve working together to achieve a task or competitive activities to ignite motivation and passion. All designed to build the companies bottom line.

At Design Visage we take Team Building a little differently. Although we work together throughout the year, our focus is always on our bride and the bridal party. We have to make it a point to come together as a group to stay connected and get that personal time that can not be achieved via weddings on the weekend or Facebook.

We choose different activities for different reasons.

White water rafting – To build trust and teamwork. Definitely a crazy day, no one wanted to end up in the water so you have to take care of each other to stay in the boat.

Sometimes our team building includes work. Here we all got together to make a VIP group of coordinators beautiful in LA. Our artists are always there when we need them.

The team can not always get together at the same time.

Individually we can bond as well. Here we participated in a yoga rave.

The adventures of the Design Visage Divas included this fun outing to hot air balloon in Del Mar! Never made it off the ground but that’s a whole other story.

Our artists give their time throughout the year.

This year we gave our time to Wish Upon a Wedding and celebrated at the annual Gala.

We generally close the busy wedding season with a gathering in December to reflect

and look forward to a prosperous New Year. A gondola ride to see the holiday lights.

Can’t say it is all work and no play with a break in the photo booth!

And again although the ladies were meeting new brides at the Love Tour they are able to spend valuable time together.

The next adventure for the Design Visage Divas…a cruise. That’s right, we are heading out for fun in the sun. We will play, relax, laugh and maybe even cry. Tears of joy and graditude for the amazing women we work with everyday.

For us, team building is our way of staying connected and understanding who our artists are. We want to keep them inspired and motivated to always do an amazing job.

I feel our efforts are reflected in the work they do and the phenomenal reviews we get from our brides. A Design Visage artist is a woman of integrity, professionalism, artistry and compassion.

We are thankful!

This time of year we all start to think of the things in life we are thankful for. At the top of our list are the amazing women that make up the DV Team! These ladies make use proud to be in the business of making brides beautiful for their big day. Each DV artist has a unique personality and special gift they bring to the team. As individual as they are, our team is consistently awesome. We firmly believe there is no “I” in TEAM and we work together to provide an amazing experience for our brides.

To ALL our DV Divas (including those not pictured above)…

Each of you are kind, loving and passionate women. You are beyond talented and creative! You are incredible, mothers, teacher and friends.

Thank you for being the women you are! You make it possible for us to enjoy what we do everyday.

Warmest,

Caren & Summer

A cultural mix at Turnip Rose with Tauran Photography and Design Visage Wedding Hair and Makeup

An interesting story of how we first met Leslie. Our DV Lauren was the wedding hair and makeup artist for a bride in which Leslie was a bridesmaid. After seeing Lauren’s work she immediately booked Design Visage for her big day!

In November we had a sprinkle of rain when Leslie was married. She started the morning with a traditional Tea Ceremony in honor of her husbands Chinese heritage. DV Lauren arrived at the Turnip Rose to begin.

Leslie chose a classic bridal hair style with soft loose curls, elegantly swept to one side with a beautiful crystal brooch. Her makeup was soft and natural.

The traditional Western ceremony and reception took them into the night at Turnip Rose.

The rain didn’t stop their wonderful celebration or fade her lovely hair and makeup.

Congratulations Leslie!

Thank you to Tauran Photography for these amazing shots!

Wedding Day Makeover/TLC/Design Visage

I met Veronica over the phone and it was love at first word. She is in one word fantastic. We had to wait a long time for the approval for her wedding on Wedding Day Makeover on TLC. When it arrived with a yes we will all elated, then the news that her wedding location would not allow a TV camera crew. A set back, but nothing is too big for Veronica. She has this strong but sweet character and before you could say no, it was a yes and we were off on a roll.

I finally  met Veronica and Brian in person at my house a few months back. They live in San Diego and needed a place for Film Garden to shoot their love story. The pretty backyard with the fireplace is mine! And the guitar that Brian is playing to serenade Veronica is my husbands. Brian and Veronica are a joy to be with.

Missy was Veronica’s Design Visage stylist and they hit it off immediately. Its kinda hard not to like Missy. The preview at the Design Visage salon lasted more than 4 hours. You will recall Veronica, her 2 sisters and her mom, all had quite a different idea for Veronica’s wedding hair and make-up. The 4 V’s had the entire crew laughing for hours. They really could not agree on a look. Ultimately it was Veronica’s choice, although she was trying to make everyone happy.

The decision: a new wave 40′s style side do combined with an updated 40′s bridal makeup. Awesome……

On the wedding day the Design Visage had the pleasure of beautifying all the bridesmaids and moms

One of the most touching parts of Veronica’s wedding; she had recently lost her father. All the girls including mom were so sad that this most important man would not be able to give his daughter away to the man she was to marry. Veronica’s fathers favorite flower was the sunflower. A large sunflower was in her bouquet as the simple of her father with her the entire day. It was wonderful.

I must day Scarlett Lillian’s photos are simple perfect.

A tender moment with MOM

This is my favorite photo, the real emotion.

Don’t you think Veronica chose the best wedding hair and makeup?

We at Design Visage do not get to see these moments on the wedding day, we beautify and off to another bride, so it is so special to see the tender moments. Scarlett Lillian has some amazing talent.

Here they are with Film Garden from the TLC show “Wedding Day Makeover”

These few shots were taken by Stephen Knuth Photography .Wow Veronica must have felt like a star with two photographer and a film crew following her around.

Design Visage has received many calls regarding Veronica’s bridal hair and makeup choice…..so I believe it was a hit.
