Mahin a traditional Sofreh Aghed wedding

What a joy to meet Mahin. She and Tony were married February 14th at the Island Hotel in Newport Beach. Duke photography captured the day….check out his work….creative! Mahin and Tony chose to marry in a Iranian Traditional ceremony….Sofreh Aghed. Now from what I understand this Sofreh Aghed is part of everything…it is the traditions from the food to the decore. There are specialists who incorporate the old world traditions into each brides new world tastes. So interesting. This is the best part of living in the United States. Each of us being the same, although each bringing a different world of culture and traditions. LOVE IT.

Let’s enjoy some of Tony and Mahin’s day.

Lauren, Mahin’s Design Visage artist did a smoky eye…color all over the lid and a full eye liner. Mahin has big dark eyes, perfect for this make-up style. But as you will see, sill quite natural. They decided to do a half up hairstyle, with a sleek look. The finishing touch…a beautiful flower.

Lauren returned to Mahin for a second hairstyle. What a stunning couple!

Thanks Mahin for bringing Design Visage into your day……

Design Visage/ Joe Photo/ Ceremony Magazine

A few years ago Design Visage teamed up with the very talented Joe Photo for a unique photo shoot that was published in Ceremony MagazineAs you will see Joe put much effort in the lighting and feeling of these shots. It was a pleasure to work with him. You can find many of these photos in our publicity section. Although, I feel these photos are due another look…..with a better resolution…..enjoy

I hope you enjoyed the photos…we did

Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not.

Design Visage in Print….Ceremony Magazine

We have been so lucky to have had brides featured in every Ceremony Magazine the the past 8 or more years. We are fortunate to work with the top photographers, coordinators and locations. This wedding was in 07…but one to remember. Talia and Scott were married at the Trump National Golf Course in Palos Verdes. The Barnets captured the moments and Kimberly Bradford Events did her organization magic. Take a look at the article that was in Ceremony Magazine and also the photos that Joe and Mirta of Barnet Photography took. Talia was fun, you will see, is not afraid of make-up and she looks fantastic with dramatic eyes, she was very specific on how she wanted her hair and make-up. Great that the DV artist Georgia was able to work her magic. The Design Visage girls also beautified all the girlie’s in the wedding party….and there were quite a few, all all pretty I might say. It was a fun day.

This is my favorite shot…..love it.

Patricia/Keith and Ryan Phillips Photography

We had so many fantastic brides last year, it is my pleasure to bring to you as many as I can get a hold of their photos. Some photographers make it so easy for us to grab a few and Ryan Phillips is wonderful. I was looking for some spectacular shoe shots ( for my ongoing bridal shoe show) and I came across Patricia. Wow she looks glorious.

Patricia and Keith were married at the elegant Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach September 6th, 2008.

Patricia is a classic beauty….so classic bridal beauty it was. Her Design Visage artist, Julia, applied warm brown and golds on the lid with a sable tone eyeliner…lips and cheeks natural rosy.  Patricia chose a straight half up style. I believe it was just perfect.

I love the color background….when Design Visage started in the wedding business 24 years ago, many of the shots of the bride and groom were in front of a fabric backdrop that was grey or some subtle blaw tone…..photograpy has become so creative.

Cute shoes……Thanks Ryan your artistry makes our brides look even more beautiful.

Bride breaks her leg

Yes the ultimate fear……Victoria, the bride, broke her leg 3 weeks prior to the wedding. And she is a doctor! She was working at a clinic..twisted her leg on a cobblestone street and ended up in a cast. Can you return one shoe?

Both the bride and her handsome groom, Cheng-han, are Internists. I think its wise for doctors to marry doctors….they can actually appreciate the schedule and responsibility of the career. Victoria’s dad is a OBGYN in the Newport Beach area so she comes from a family of medicine.

One of our favorite people coordinated the wedding Naomi Takahashi of D.N.T. Elite events along with her two partners Deanna and Tiffany. We actually had the pleasure of helping Naomi look beautiful for her wedding last year. Sae Lee was kind to send us the lovely photography. They were a sensational team of artists, along of course with Design Visage.

The wedding was held on May 16th at the Trump National Golf Club. Lets start with the engagement photos that were shot in San Diego by  Sae Lee Photography, and beauty by Design Visage….then on to the wedding.

Heather, Victora’s DV artist chose a very natural look for the engagement photos…especially since Victoria does not wear a lot of make-up on a daily basis. For the wedding Heather went more dramatic on the eyes with a plum/brown shadow and a soft rosy cheek and lip. Victoria’s hairstyle was a half up. Very clean from the front and the back has a surprise design, created with a loose curl and the rest of her hair down and curled.

Look at those lashes….only her make-up artist knows for sure. Naomi, the coordinator, said that Victoria and Cheng-han were one of the most genuine and considerate couples she has ever met. The wedding party organized a fun game at the reception called “Who Will”. It was a series of questions on who was going to do what in the marriage…ie who will do the laundry, take out the trash, wear the pants. Yea wedding party for the creative fun!

A least her doctor removed the cast, replacing it with a boot for the wedding…yea

For fun I think Sae Lee should have taken a shot of just one shoe…..a funny memory. Maybe for me. Although the improtant thing that I always say to our brides….the only truely important thing on the wedding day is that he and you show up and commit your lives together…the rest is just fluff.

Thank you Victoria…we loved adding you to our family of beautiful brides.
