Jen was Alpha’s Design Visage artist and they spent several hours prior to the wedding trying at least 10 ten different hairstyles. The challenge for Alpha is that every style looked amazing. She also tried many different types of styles. In the end a classic bridal hairstyle and makeup was chosen and Jen returned after the ceremony to let Alpha’s lovely locks down and restyle her hair into a fun down bridal hairstyle.

Joe and Mirta Barnet, as always, recreated the day with the most fantastic photography. Alpha looks even better behind their camera! The setting was the Ritz Carlton in Dana Point, one of our favorite locations, and exquisitely organized by the talented Gail Garseau. When you have a team like this , you cannot go wrong.

The tea ceremony is such a lovely part of some of the Asian cultures.

Pink is back. You are going to see lots of pink in 2011, as well as lips and cheeks.

Alpha utilized Design Visage’s rent a headpiece and borrow a veil program. You can see this headpiece on Bridalmode.

Bridal Hairstyle: Jen used a 1 1/2 inch barrel curling iron and set Alpha’s hair. This was for the volume and gave Jen the ability style her hair with big ribbon curls. The front and sides were pulled back to show the ribbon headband. You have to have a beautiful face to be able to have the hair all off the face.

Bridal makeup: Jen wanted to enhance Alpha’s already perfect skin by adding a fresh dewy glow with mineral makeup. Jen used a peachy pink on the cheeks with a smoky eye using earth tones along with pinks highlighting inner corner of the eye and brow bone, which opens the eye area and adds a glow. Lips were a nude pouty pink. Topped with a sheer pink gloss.

This wedding was a few years ago, although I remember Christina , she was one of the sweetest brides ever, and beautiful. Her photos are so fantastic I could have chosen so many. Scott Robert Photography  outdid himself on these….

After the wedding Christina wrote a very nice comment on the Wedding Bee about Design Visage and her DV artist Dana.  Thanks Christina…..

I went with an Orange-county based company called Design Visage, that specializes in on-site wedding hair and makeup in the Southern California area. They have a team of about twelve stylists, all which have had a ton of experience! I loooooved my artist, Dana… She was absolutely amazing when it came to both make-up and hair, and I just absolutely loved loved loved not only her work but also just her friendly and warm personality! And from what I hear from other brides, their entire team is like that!

What was also great was just how responsive, accommodating, and on top of things they were. While I’ve been lucky to have had pretty great vendors for the most part, there were definitely a few that kept me hanging or rarely returned calls (which I ultimately ding-ed). Plus, planning a wedding in LA from Northern California put some constraints on my calendar. Given my challenges in scheduling and just in finding a stylist who could really deliver, it was a blessing and just refreshing to finally find Design Visage. I truly felt like a beautiful bride. In fact, after seeing my hair and makeup, one of my bridesmaids immediately hired Design Visage for her own August wedding at the request of her fiance!

Thank you SO MUCH, Dana and Design Visage, for making me really feel sobeautiful on what was truly one of the bestest special-est days of my life! I can’t thank you enough!

Wedding Hairstyle:

Christina wanted a halfup do…very soft and sexy…so that is what we did. Christina has perfect hair so it was a good choice.

Wedding Make-Up

Natural Natural Natural was the key to Christina look, although if you read my blog you know that natural does not mean no make-up…..natural colors that compliment and bring out the eyes and skin tone.

I LOVE everything about these photos of Venice….take a look  at this St Regis Monarch Beach wedding:

We feel close to Venice, since she visited Design Visage many times prior to the wedding for facials and extra beauty services.

 Bridal Hairstyle:

Venice chose such a flattering and fun hairstyle and her Design Visage Artist Heather created the best do! This style is easy…especially if you have beautiful hair like Venice (don’t fret…we can add extensions if you have fine hair like I do!)

• First Heather curled and set all of Venice’s lovely locks
• Finger brush the cooled curls and pull to the slight side in a loose pony.
• The bangs…very important part..a side part with a bit of hairspray and a good iron to keep them in place…but soft. This entire look is soft..romantic
• Lastly the finishing touch a feathery flower from Bridalmode…just perfect.

Wedding Make-Up:

• Eyes were created with a coppery brown contour and a charcoal liner..interesting combination but it works and well
• lashes lashes lashes
• lips and cheeks are called sweetie..perfect name for a rose tone
• gloss gloss gloss

Wow look at Mom…..

This photo is amazing…was this to show off the perfect purple shoes…or was Venice having fun, or the idea of Amy Squires Photography…who ever, I think you will see many brides copying this pose.

I am a sucker for the father/daughter photos….is this touching….

Venice wins so far this year with the best shoes…………

On September 19th Lynne and Joe were married at the lovely Torrance Marriott. We can thank the talented Christine Bentley Photography for the beautiful photos.

Wedding Hairstyle

• Lynne has great hair….long and full and like many brides wanted a soft half updo. So Dana ( her Design Visage artist) used a 1 1/2 iron to do loose curles all over.
• After the hair cools….Dana took loose pieces from the sides and created a bridal hairstyle in the back
• The overall look in so natural, although elegant and the fact that there is a part up, the hairstyle will look good all night
• Dana did a elegant swoop bang for the front of Lynne’s bridal hairstyle.

Wedding Make-Up:

• Lynn is so darn cute….the make-up just added a touch….Dana started with a mineral foundation and powder….sheer with staying power
• Shadow color was a canvass all over the lid, contour pink brown (this is the best best color to contour without looking made up) topped off with a sable liner and matching shadow to smoke out the liner and corners of the eye (don’t forget the brow shaper)
• the final touch was a heather pink lip with a sweetie gloss…a very natural pink…this creates a very natural lip tone that is the color of Lynne’s lips…just a bit darker….

Katelyn chose a loose non structured updo for her bridal hairstyle and bridal make-up was in the soft pink and brown tones with a bold lip. She has the most beautiful skin, all around just a lovely girl. And just look at her skin…it looks airbrushed, but its just her. Can’t buy that…just born with it!

I am sure Katelyn was a joy for the photographer Jim, with all this personality. Makes it more fun to create.

Naomi’s hair and make-up were very fun. She has great hair and Michelle ( her DV artist) did an intricate but loose updo. It was all out of her face, and a piece of artwork in the back. Naomi’s make-up was a natural look of neutrals, pinks and mauve’s. Just enough to bring out her features. WOW she looks fantastic.
